Challenges
The National Health Service (NHS) had been using a national data platform that was built years ago which had become outdated and ineffective. Recently, they transitioned to a new Federated Data Platform provided by Palantir. Within this platform, there is a component called the Privacy Enhancing Technology (PET) tool, which is supplied by Iqvia. The new FDP’s overall capability will provide the NHS and Government with a list of aggregated data sets which enables easy access to health data of patients centrally. The PET solution, which is responsible for data masking, is expected to allow users to report on the datasets accurately and discreetly.
Very little time for solutioning
Built an approach for transition and transformation in 6 weeks with tooling and structure.
Process improvement recommendations were not considered
Shift left approach recommended but not adopted by the 3rd party team delivering FDP
Unclear Requirements
Minimal functional and non-functional Business Requirements
High existing defect load
Mindset of 3rd parties delivering a "SaaS" approach had to be changed due to number of defects
Extended support to manage timelines
Needed to deliver Solution Assurance over multiple weekends to reduce business user impact
